Why Light Your Flag?

Under the U.S. Flag Code, a flag displayed 24 hours a day should be properly illuminated during the hours of darkness. A light also keeps a flag visible and looking its best at night at a home, business, church, school or government building.

How to Choose the Right Flagpole Light

  • Check your halyard system. External halyard poles (rope and pulley at the top) and internal halyard poles (winch or cam cleat inside the pole) use different beacon and dome lights. PoleLED uplights fit both; internal halyard poles need the halyard kit.
  • Measure the pole. PoleLED uplights are sized by butt (base) diameter, and beacon lights by the pole top.
  • Wired or solar. Beacon, dome and PoleLED lights are wired. Solar lights are the easiest choice when there is no power at the pole.
